The belt is tied in a square knot. If it is your first try, make sure that your jacket ties have been properly secured first (see diagrams 1, 2 and 3).
Fold the belt in half to determine the centre (4).
Place the centre point at the front of your waist (5). Then carry each end around the back of your body (6), and then continue the ends to the front (7). From there draw the overlapping ends of the belt up between the jacket and the belt (8).
Complete the knot as shown (9 and 10). It is considered a matter or pride for the ends of the belt to be of equal length after the square knot is neatly tied (11 and 12).
